CTO Challenge #77: Child's Birthday

Hello everyone,

If you are looking for FCCB Back to School Crawl click HERE.

Its Tuesday and time for a new challenge at Celebrate the Occasion. This week our challenge theme is Child's Birthday. Make a project for a child's birthday.

This theme would be perfect opportunity to make a card for my son, because today is his 5th Birthday. When I was choosing my image from our sponsor Digi Doodle I was not thinking so far ahead. So I have two cards to share with you today.

My first I used a Little Momma from Digi Doodle. She is just so adorable! I colored in with my Copics and paper pieced her dress and shoes.

I am still practicing with my Copics and I am not as comfortable with using them as I would like. I keep going outside the lines. I covered her shoes in diamond Stickles, they look like those cute glitter shoes for little girls.

Visit Digi Doodles and check out their really awesome images.

My second card is for my son. He has always loved trains so I used Boys Will Be Boys Cart to cut this card. I was inspired by my fellow DT member Esther of For The Joy Of Creating to make a tent topper card form him.

Here is picture of my sweetie on his first day of Kindergarten last Monday. I can't believe he is 5 years old today!

I hope you will get a chance to visit CTO and join in our challenge this week!

Happy Scrapping!

CTO Challenge #74: Back To School

Hello everyone,

If you are looking for my FCCB and Canvas Corp post please click HERE.

There is a new challenge up today at Celebrate The Occasion. Our theme is Back to School. Our challenge to you is to make a project with a back to school theme. I did a scrapbook page of my kids heading off to school last September. My daughter was off to Kindergarten and my son was off to his second year at preschool.

Last school year was a very busy for them because we moved across the country so they had to join new schools in the middle of the year. They both did very well with the changes though. This year my son moves to yet another school as he starts Kindergarten this year.

I worked on a few other school pages and here is one of my son on his first day out to preschool. He was only 3 years old and looked so tiny. He is growing up so fast!

What was used:
Recollection and Bazzill Cardstock
DCWV Grade School Paper Stack
DCWV Stickers, Brads and Ribbon
TPC Studio Back To School Sticker SheetA
EK Success Paper Shapers Spiral Punch
EK Success Binding Edge Punch
Popdots to pop up the stickers.

I hope you will visit Celebrate the Occasion and see the projects the DT have submitted and join in with us.

Happy Scrapping!

FCCB Challenge #123: Jump In and Cool Off

Hello Everyone,

Its Monday so there is another challenge up at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog! This week I am very excited to be showcasing products from our sponsor Canvas Corp.

This week our Challenge is Jump In and Cool Off! We challenge you to make a project with a water theme (pool, beach, water park, etc.). To make my project I had a choice of the Beach Collection or the Nautical Collection. I chose the Nautical Collection to work with. Here is a look at the papers and other goodies I had to play with.

I received 24 sheets of this gorgeous paper, cork sheet, kraft cards and envelopes, mini canvas flags and hemp rope.

Box opened

I decided to make a card box set for my project with a Nautical Theme. I was really inspired by the anchors on the paper. I cut my sailboat and the shape card from Just a Note cartridge and the anchors and ship's wheel from Life is a Beach cartridge. I used some of the Canvas Corp paper in my E2 and it cuts beautifully.

I started with a wooden craft box for and painted the inside of the box with a beige paint then covered the outside with the Anchors and Red dots papers. I also added a little anchor to the envelop to coordinate with the box set.

 Shape Card

 Shape card opened

Set of 5 cards and envelopes included in the box set

The flags were lightly inked

Opened box, the edges were also inked. I copied the design of the cards in the box so that the recipient of the set will have a reminder of the cards after sending them out.

What was used:
Canvas Corp Nautical Paper Collection
Canvas Corp Canvas Minis
Canvas Corp Hemp cord
Canvas Corp 5 X 7 Kraft Cards and Envelopes
Cricut Just a Note
Cricut Life is a Beach
Art Minds Craft Box
Other plain card stock
EK Success Scalloped Scallop Edge Punch
Colorbox Chalk Inks
Apple Barrel Beige Craft Paint

I hope you will join us this week for our challenge one lucky person will come away with a Prize Package from Canvas Corp. Please stop by Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and see the inspiring projects from rest of the DT and join in with us.
