Shirt Birthday Card

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let everyone one know the Challenges are back on at Celebrate the Occasion. Its DT 1 turn to inspire you but you all know I love to join in with them. As always there is a chance to be entered into a draw for the monthly prize for July the prize is a Cricut Block Party Cartridge. The theme is any occasion, blue and white, so get working on a project and link it to CTO.

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to share that I have made a second term at Celebrate the Occasion. I decided to reapply for a new term on the DT there, being on the team before wasn't a certainty for getting a second shot, so I was so happy that I was chosen for a second term. I can't wait to get started.

I would love to say congrats to all the new and returning team members.  There isn't a challenge this week but please visit CTO to see the beautiful work the new DT members submitted, then visit their blogs and show them some love.

Here is a card to say congrats to the team. The greeting is in finnish, 'Onnea' means Congrats or Good Luck, both sentiments perfectly apply for this occasion to celebrate!

My Pink Stamper DT Submission (Aug-Jan Term)

Hello everyone,

I am applying for a DT position over at My Pink Stamper.

Her challenge: "Make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge using the colors Orange, Turquoise, Green, Brown and another optional color of your choice."

I have chosen one of my new favorite carts Kate's ABCs to use for this challenge and my optional color is PINK! I used Robyn's Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set for this project. I love this set because all the phrase fits perfectly across a portrait A2 card but still perfect on any other size cards you make.

What was used:
Cricut Kate's ABCs (flowerpot cut at 3.75 inches)
Cricut Elegant Edges (Scallop frame and shadow cut at 4.25 inches)
My Pink Stamper Fabulous Phrases Stamp set
Cuttlebug Tiny Mosaic Embossing Folder
DCWV The Mango Frost Stack
Recollections Cardstock
Martha Stewart Pop-up Butterflies Edge Punch for the butterflies.
Recollection Ribbon
ColorBox Earthly Ores Brown ink
Zing Embossing Powder

This is my second time submitting for a DT call at MPS so I am sharing with you my first entry. If you would like to see that entire post click HERE.

Wish me luck, good luck if you have entered and

Nuts About Sketches # 168 and # 169

Hello Everyone,

I usually don't post my pages until Shawn has a chance to post on the Nuts About Sketches blog but she was away and had a little mishap with her scheduler for sketch 169 and I also have a little mishap with sketch 168 from the previous week. So sorry if I have kept you all waiting. So today you will you have two pages in this post and after Shawn has posted the new sketch for this Monday there will be another post.

Both pages are for my in-laws' book. I am working on a scrapbook for my in-laws, it has taken me almost three years but now I am 3 pages away from completing it. It is looking really good and I will have to hand it over by August 15 when my Mother-in-law take it back to Finland.

Sketch 168 (left side):
This page is of the sauna and the lake at the summer place. The Finns are crazy about their saunas. In the summer it is just beautiful by the summer place and evening are so relaxing to sweat in 100 degrees Celsius (that's 212 degrees Fahrenheit), then running to the lake to cool off. The title 'Mennaan Saunaan' means 'Let's go to the sauna.'

What was used:
Cricut Gypsy Font (Title 1 inch letters welded)
Cricut Cindy Loo (5 flourishes for branch stem at 1 inch)
Cricut Mother's Day Bouquet (60 leaves cut at 0.5 inch on double sided green paper)
SCAL for the bucket
Fiskars Embossing plate in my Cuttlebug
DCWV Playtime Stack
Cardstock: Recollection and TPC Studios, K&C Remake Grass Green

 Sketch 169
I have been putting my titles for their book in Finnish but this one I had the perfect letters to go with the paper and since my in-laws speak excellent English I decided to use English for this one. The picture is of them skiing, they are avid cross country skiers sometimes taking the grand kids with them. My kids haven't gone yet but they have something to look forward to.

What was used:
DCWV The Winter Wonder Stack
TPC Studio Winter Blues Sticker Stack
Colorbox Glitter Rub-ons
Felt snow flakes and other embellies from my stash.

You can still visit Nuts About Sketches to see the gorgeous layouts from the rest of the DT and check in later for my take on Sketch 170.

Happy Scrapping!

Hello everyone,

The first term of the design team at Celebrate the Occasion is now coming to an end. So this is my last project for this term. Its has been such an honor to serve with the ladies on the team they have been so supportive of each others craft. I have made some good blog-buddies in the DT and in the bloggers that take part in the fun challenges. Thanks for everything gals and guys!

On to this week's Challenge, Christmas in July theme continues but this week you are asked to make a shape card. I combined two Cricut carts (Smiley Cards and Winter Woodland) for this card, I joined the shadow images I liked on my Gypsy and welded them to form the base of my fun card.

What was used:
Cricut Smiley Cards
Cricut Winter Woodland
Gypsy
Deja Views Fair Isle Christmas Stack
Cardstock: We R Memory Keepers, DCWV, Recollection
My Pink Stamper Winter Punnies Stamp Set
Colorbox Que Fluid Chalk

Remember to stop by and participate in the Challenge. You could be entered in the prize for this month which is a Block Party Cricut cartridge, perfect for those summer pages. Visit Celebrate the Occasion and see the amazing project the DT has to inspire you.

Paper This and That July Challenge: "A Slice of Summer"

Hello everyone,

The challenge at Paper This and That is 'A Slice of Summer'. What is your interpretation of that theme? When I think about a Slice of Summer I immediately think watermelon. It brings me back to day in Jamaica with family's little watermelon patch so fresh and so delicious on a hot summer day.

I just fell in love with the background paper when I saw it, I just loved the little ants walking across the bottom of the paper and it looks so much like a picnic blanket and my kids love to go for picnics in the summer.

What was used:
Cricut Simply Charmed (Melon cut at 1.75 inches, Phrase cut at 1.5 inches)
Paper Pizazz Picnic Ants Paper
Cardstock: We R Memory Keepers and Recollection
Recollection ribbon
Star Dust Stickles
Bling

The prize this month is a cute little Camera Mini Book so go visit Paper This and That and join in the fun.

Happy Scrapping!
