Nuts About Sketches Birthday Celebrations: Sketch 1

Hello everyone,

Today is the first of the seven days birthday celebrations at Nuts About Sketches. Happy Birthday NAS, Shawn keep producing those fabulous sketches. I have not been so productive with my pages in a very long time and I am loving it.

My page is of my little brother and me. It was taken in Florida when we went to our Grandmother's 100th birthday celebrations. It was nice to hang out with him for a little, we don't get to see each other as much as I would like. Love you Brod-brod!

What was used:
Cricut Georges and Basic shapes for the circles
Basic Grey Urban Couture Collection Pack
Buttons, Ribbon and Embroidery Floss from my stash.
Inkadinkado Coffee Bean Pigment ink
Cutter Bee Bugs for holes for stitching (messed up a little).

If you complete any of the sketches during this week long celebration you will be entered into a drawing for a Scrapbook kit from The Scrapping Spot. Here is a sneak peak of the kit. Isn't it just fabulous!

Visit Nuts About Sketches for details on how to enter. Check back tomorrow for my next page.

Happy Scrapping!

Nuts About Sketches # 158 & Reminder

Hello Everyone,

I am making a quick post late on a Monday night to show off my new page for NAS. I have been so busy with an extremely sick boy. Needless to say I haven't had any sleep last night and not even during the day. So I'll probably have to come back to this post after I get enough sleep. The page is titled Peikkotytto. It is Finnish and means (if translated directly) Troll/Goblin Girl. The pictures are of my daughter on her visit to Finland in 2010 with her grandparents. Her grandparents thought her hair looked like that of a little troll/goblin and so they lovingly called her Peikkotytto.

What was used:
Cricut Don Juan (using Gypsy - cut at 1.5 NOT increased with width)
Fiskars Squeeze Punches Oopsie Daisy (large and extra large) (2 layers from each punch)
Fiskars Pop up Punch - Daisy (2 layers)
DCWV The Blossoms and Butterflies Stack
Recollections cardstock
Colorbox Cat's Eye Inks
Stickles

Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #10: Birthday Sketch

Hello Everyone,

Its Design Team 2 week at Celebrate the Occasion, that means its my turn to submit a project. This week's challenge is to make something Birthday, but you have to follow a sketch. Remember that there is a monthly prize for entering our challenges This month's  prize is 'Simply Sweet' Cricut Cart. You have until Sunday, April 24th, 11:59pm (EST).

I really wanted to challenge myself by making a masculine card. I find them so difficult to make sometimes, this was the perfect opportunity to try. When creating masculine cards choose a couple coordinating 'guy' patterned paper, limit the embellishments (plain buttons and plain grosgrain ribbons are great for guy cards) and you can also play up the word art. I love the way my card looks and I can all use this design for so many other occasions by just changing the greeting and word art.

What was used:
We Are Memory Keepers Geo-Hectic Stack.
Recollections Cardstock (5 1/2 X 5 1/2 base)
Buttons
Colorbox Charcoal ink
Ribbon from my stash
Making Memories Rub-Ons
Heidi Grace Cardstock Alphas Stickers
Fiskars Shape Cutter

Please visit  Celebrate the Occasion get inspired by the DT projects, see the sketch and join in the fun. You don't even have to own a Cricut to join in, I didn't use mine for this project.

My Pink Stamper's Pinkalicious Blog Hop Challenge (Apr. 2011)

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my new followers. It seems like I have just hit 100 and I am just steadily climbing and it wouldn't happen with you! I love submitting to My Pink Stamper Challenge; this month's theme is Anything Birthday. Robyn does such beautiful work and her pink designer have made really special projects for this month's blog hop.

I wanted to do two hings with this challenge make a cut that I haven't before from my cart and use one of Robyn's stamps. since I only have Punnylicious and the Christmas sets then I guess I had to use Create a Critter to go with it. I chose the little crab because of the 'Crab-u-lous' sentiment I haven't used either before.

I think they worked great together! So here is my card:
Another little guy greets them on the inside.

What do you think? I could have made it a little bigger tough. I need to get a few more of Robyn's stamps set. I am going to try to get my hands on Fabulous Phrases next!

What was used:
Gypsy
Cricut Smiley Cards: Welded crabs together for the card base (4.20 each crab, 3.95 for each liner then cut off limbs) and call-out (cut to match stamps size)
Cricut Create a Critter: Crabs 2.30 and 1.30 inches
My Pink Stamper Punny-licious Stamp Set
'Happy Birthday' from Michael's $1 bin
Cardstock: Coredinations and Recollection

Think Spring Card and Something to share

Hello everyone,

This week theme is April Showers on few challenge blogs that I love to visit. I used my Gypsy to hide parts of the images I choose and also for welding other images together. After I separated the cut I thought the negative was just too cute to get rid of so I used it for another card. I am not sure which card I like most.

I am submitting these cards for these challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Challenge Me Monday #54 - April Showers (anything with an umbrella)
My Sheri Crafts Challenge #51 - April Showers
Get Inspired With ChatterScene  - April Showers

What was used:
Cricut Nursery Rhymes Cart (Child with umbrella cut at 3.75 inches)
Cricut Create a Critter (Puddle cut at 1.2 inches)
Cricut Disney Princesses Dreams Come True (Splash welded to the puddle, cut at 1 inch)
DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Boy Stack
DCWV Bella Cafe stack
Recollection Cardstock
Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Divine Swirls Embossing folders
American Crafts ribbon
 Button from my stash
Stamp from Michael's $1 bin
Ink

Something To Share:
I found out that one of the high school student volunteers, who help out in my son's preschool class makes cards. I went into my stash and found her some supplies to play with. She made me this cute card to say thanks for the stuff.  Thought I would share it with you all. Isn't it cute! She hand cut every little detail on the card, I hope you can give her some encouragement. I hope she will continue to make cards. Well done Megan!

Nuts About Sketches # 155

Hello everyone,

Its Monday so there is a new sketch on Nuts About Sketches.

The photos I used for this page were of my son having an EEG done. He was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder - Not Otherwise Specified (PDD-NOS) when he had just turned 3 yrs old. His symptoms were speech and other developmental delays. The results from the EEG showed that there was nothing unusual with his brain waves so that was very good news. We had Genetic testing done and he was found to have a micro-duplication on one chromosome. He is a lively little boy and his vocabulary has just exploded with all the therapy that he has been getting. He is doing really well and my family and I are very hopeful that he will start kindergarten with all the kids in his age group when its time.

What was used:
Cursive 101 (computer cut at 4.5 inches)
Seven wire thermostat wiring from my local hardware.
Recollection cardstock
Heidi Grace Chipboard and sticker letters

Go visit Nuts About Sketches and see all the beautiful layouts that were submitted for this sketch.

Happy Scrapping,
Judy
